MTK Scotland

MTK ScotlandMTK Scotland is Scotland’s biggest boxing gym, with x 2 competition sized boxing rings and more than 50 punch bags. MTK Scotland was previously known as the SK Boxing Gym and in 2015 rebranded as MTK Scotland, a division of MTK Global. The relationship between the MTK Scotland and MTK Marbella gyms stems from Sam Kynoch (founder of the SK Boxing Gym) taking a team of boxers over to the Marbella gym for a training camp. The Scottish boxers were the first team to undertake a camp at the Marbella gym. Following subsequent trips a deal was struck which saw the Scottish and Spanish gyms join forces. MTK Promotions Scotland was also formed – a professional boxing events company, based in the MTK Scotland Gym, which promotes regular boxing events in Scotland.

Sam Kynoch

Managing Director, Trainer and Promoter

Sam started boxing at the age of 12 and as an amateur competed in over 50 contests and represented Scotland on several occasions.  Sam started promoting in 2008 when he founded SK Boxing Promotions.  He went on to promote over 150 events under the SK Boxing Promotions banner before making the transition into professional boxing in 2015.  Sam, under the MTK Scotland banner, is now Scotland’s busiest professional boxing promoter.

Sam studied Law at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 2008 and practicing in the Corporate department on one of Scotland’s leading law firms until 2013 – when he decided to give up legal practice to focus on boxing.  Sam still tutors in Law at Strathclyde University on a part-time basis.

In additional to promotional activities Sam founded the MTK Scotland Boxing Gym – Scotland’s biggest boxing gym – in 2015.  Sam is also President of the Glasgow City Boxing Club – which operates out of the MTK Scotland Boxing Gym and is affiliated to Boxing Scotland.
